Dan Lacy’s primary areas of practice include intellectual property, licensing, entertainment and civil litigation. He regularly counsels clients on effective management and development of their intellectual property assets by identifying and evaluating opportunities across diverse industries. Dan handles a variety of matters including drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, assisting in dispute resolutions, and trademark and brand protection.
Additionally, Dan advises small businesses and startup companies on how to successfully develop and expand their businesses. He regularly assists clients by, negotiating and drafting business formation documents, employment and NDA agreements, vendor contracts and development of risk management programs.
Dan graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston in South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration and economics. After college, Dan refined his business development and finance skills while working for a prestigious business management firm. He then decided to pursue a law degree, where he graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law. During law school Dan spent several years working for the San Diego District Attorney, where extensive courtroom experience facilitated the development of his litigation skills.
Dan is currently an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association, and Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA). Additionally, he is a contributing author for The Licensing Journal.
